McConnell Family Portraits

Wow-wee...yesterday was so wonderful. I spent the afternoon with the McConnell family and captured some amazing images...

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

Finally, after 3 days of being down, my website is back and running wonderfully. Thank you to Wade at bludomain for helping me problem solve this. And an extra special thank you to my brother for teaching me a bunch of new stuff about how the back end of this whole website thing works - hooray for computer nerds!

Whew, it feels good to be back.

Radtke Family Portraits

Yesterday afternoon I met Kathleen, Derrick & little cutie pie (a.k.a Ridge). It was the first time in years that I had walked around Red Rocks besides the concert venue. It's really nice up there during the day! The view was awesome! Especailly with yesterday's beautiful. We had originally scheduled to take the portraits last Sunday but that freak snow storm put a damper on those plans. Instead, we were blessed with crisp, cool air and bright blue skies...the perfect environment for beautiful family portraits.

I'm bummed because my website is down right now - the images won't load. I have a support ticket in to my hosting company so hopefully they will get back to me soon!

I've spent countless hours preparing the new website and I was just getting ready to publish it...looks like that will be on hold for just a little while longer.

This afternoon is my shoot with the McConnell family...can't wait!

Joel and the Classic Roman Nose

Joel and I headed to north east Denver in the hopes of finding a cool industrial area to shoot some pics...instead, we came across this alley that smelled like Chili's and made us hungry - there was a mexican bakery making tortilla chips on the corner ;)

Laura & Doug

Laura and Doug are getting married in January. The three of us got together last Saturday to take some pics...luckily we didn't have to deal with that amazing snow storm on Sunday!

Computer No Worky

I was so excited to blog with samples of the THOUSANDS of photos I shot this past weekend BUT my computer stopped working this morning! It was busy and fun shooting the Associated General Contractors of Colorado appreciation dinner/ceremony on Friday night, then Laura & Doug's engagement photos on Saturday afternoon and then Maureen's Lifestyle shoot on Sunday afternoon. Now that I finally have time to post all the photos, I don't have my computer to work on :( Right now I am at an internet cafe (Thank God for these fabulous cafes!).

Anyways...the only image I have to represent my day is this lousy picture of a mother board...I'll be seeing a brand new one arrive at my doorstep in a couple days.

Bikes & Birds

I spent the past weekend at my parents cabin with my family. The morning we were leaving, my dad did his usual chore of filling the bird feeders so they had plenty of food for the week. One little birdie was impatient and started feasting right out of my Daddy's hand! (click on the picture to see a larger version)




My brother bought a new motorcycle last week and took the 6 hour round trip drive between Denver and the cabin...I got a couple shots of him on the highway while we followed him home.

Hair People

This morning was chilly but it didn't stop me and the girls from Hair People from getting outside to shoot! The vibrant colors in the leaves were a gorgeous backdrop to compliment the five beautiful women I had the pleasure of photographing. Maree (owner) and I originally met at Core Power Yoga this past spring and have been in touch since. My favorite part about their salon, besides the friendly and professional stylists, is the character that is held in their unique building jusf off 6th Avenue.

Sessions Family Portraits

On Saturday afternoon, I met up with the Sessions Family to take their Family Portraits. Besides the strong winds, we had GORGEOUS weather and got some great shots.
My biggest challenge? Getting Aaron, their 15 year old, to smile. I might have made a fool of myself a couple times in the effort to get a chuckle but in the end a couple shots with a grin made everyone happy.

Race for the Cure 2007

I just got back from running the Komen's Race for the Cure. This is the second year in a row that I've run it and it is one of my favorite races of the year! It started out really chilly this morning but by mile 1 I ripped off my hat and was feeling GREAT!
Last I heard, there were over 60,000 participants this year - WOW! It's such an amazing sight to see the sea of women in pink marching for the same reason. The sun was rising just as we started running and the sky reflected beautiful shades of purple, orange and pink.

I can't imagine a better way to start a Sunday morning!
